Kinginrin

Kinginrin literally means ‘golden silvery scales’ and refers to the sparkling affect of the scales, which appears golden over hi and silver over white and sumi.

Scale Forms
Kingrinin appears in different forms and affects different parts of the scales. These types, which do not alter the koi’s classification, can be divided into two groups:

Pearl Ginrin: On this type of koi there is a solid sparkling area on each scale, giving the appearance of being covered with tiny pearls.

The second type of group is divided into three variants. In all these forms the effected scales have a flat appearance, lacking the solidity, or lumpy appearance, of the Pearl Ginrin scales:

Beta-gin: The whole of the surface of the scales sparkle.
Diamond Ginrin: The scales sparkle like diamonds.
Kado-gin: Only the edges of the scales are iridescent.
