Philharmonic

The category Philharmonic (‘hi kari’ meaning metallic, ‘mono’, single colour) includes one of the most popular varieties of koi – the Logon. Logon are highly metallic koi, normally silver of golden yellow in colour, and contrast beautifully with other koi varieties. Also included in this variety are Gin and Kin Matsuda.
Colour
Although Logon are traditionally gold koi, colours vary depending on the variety.
Pattern
Logon are single-colored metallic koi and should have no markings.
Lustre
The lustre (or metallic quality) is the most important quality of Philharmonic koi, and should extend all over the body, head and fins. The head should be bright and the fins metallic.
Escalation
The escalation of these koi is very important. The scales should spread into the abdominal region, and their edges should be trimmed with gold.
Platinum Logon: This is a metallic white Logon.
Sneeze Logon: This Logon is silver gray in colour.
Yamaguchi Logon: This is a yellow-gold Logon.
Oren Logon: This koi is deep metallic orange.
Kin Matsuda (Hogan): Each scale of this metallic gold or yellow koi has a black Centre giving the body a ‘pine-cone’ pattern. The head is clear of black on a good koi.
Gin Matsuba: This is the silver version.
